The Aticama Sunday Market originated in the aftermath of Hurricane Kenna stemming from the collective effort of our local community to restore the plants at the Aticama plaza. A few years later, as Victoria Stewart and I rolled out homemade pasta around my kitchen table, the idea grew. Weary of having to scratch cook day in and day out, we longed for a nearby source of wholesome, home grown, homemade goods and handicrafts. After brainstorming ideas and with the realization of the opening of the Matanchen Bay Cultural Center with it's palm fringed courtyard--Voila! We had our handy venue and the market has continued to be a great success since it's inception.
